Nati's rally to tautoko Sir Tamati's TVNZ interview
Te Karere Interview:
Whanau turned up in force to support Sir Tamati's interview with Manawa Wright, Te Karere, on Thursday at Horouta Marae. Sir Tamati was forceful in his message about the difficulties imposed by the Runanganui on Ngati Porou who want to register to vote in the upcoming elections. As the Runanganui continues to insist on very specific ID for registration purposes, the thing that makes one Ngati Porou is being ignored - whakapapa.

International and national support from whanau:
The Taurahere messages are reaching whanau across the globe and support for ourkaupapa has come from Canada, Rarotonga and Australia. Please keep the responses coming. We received the following letter from a young Nati in Auckland who has been dismayed by the behaviour of the Runanganui. He and his whanau were caught by the change to the registration rules too.
Here is an excerpt from his letter:"Leadership influences, encourages, motivates and inspires people to move forward in a positive manner. Leadership embraces change, it does not attempt to divide people when decisions are challenged. A leader carries the vision of the people and remains forever mindful that this vision is held by all. Every voice has a right to be heard and when we have leadership that denigrates our most esteemed leaders we are in an environment of disintegration and the deadly downward spiral of self- destruction!"
