NGĀTA LECTURES WĀNANGA IN PONEKE 4-7 September 2014
Tena koutou katoa. Please be advised that the Ngata Lectures will be held in Wellington, 4 – 7 September 2014, hosted by the Ngati Porou ki Poneke taurahere.
Programme details are being developed at the moment but for now please plan and book your time around the following:
- 4 September – manuhiri arrive in Poneke (Kokiri Marae, Seaview). Powhiri at 6pm and kai at 8pm
- 5 September – full day of lectures, opening with Ta Tamati Reedy - History of Ta Apirana Ngata. Content & venue(s) to be confirmed. Evening – Nati Expo
- 6 September – full morning of lectures. At midday – bus to Otaki for Ngati Porou versus Horowhenua rugby match. After- match function and hangi.
- 7 September – parakuihi, wrap-up and review. Poroporoaki. Midday – ka mutu.
Accommodation, food and transport will be provided. However there will be a small registration fee ($20 per adult, $10 per adult student and tamariki free) to help towards the costs. We will publish the final programme and let you know how to register and pay your registration fee in due course.
