Sir Apirana Ngata Memorial Lectures - FAQs

NML

Q: Do I have to pay to attend the lectures?
A: All lectures are free and open to the public, however registration is encouraged to secure your seat. The registration fee of $20 for adults and $10 for students will help meet the costs of catering, transport, accommodation, live streaming, promotion and administration.

Q: Can I just pay for the Friday night hakari?
A: Yes you can. When you register just tick yes for the hakari option ($30).

Q: I want to bring my children to the lectures - is that OK?
A: Yes, that is fine. Please bring your well behaved, polite children. Should they get a bit hoha and rowdy there are lots of other amazing things to see and do at Te Papa.

Q: Can I bring my children to the hakari and pay less for them as they don't eat very much?
A: Yes, you can bring your well behaved, polite children to the hakari. Unfortunately there is only one cost for the hakari and that is $30 for adults, students and children.

Q: Can we bring our own lunch to the lectures?
A: Yes, but you can't eat it in Te Papa. However, as Te Papa is located on the waterfront there are lots of beautiful spaces to eat outside (unless it's raining and windy and cold)

Q: I can't attend but don't want to miss out. Is there another way I can follow the lectures?
A: Yes, the lectures will be streamed live on the web and can be watched at the following Te Papa website address: http://webcast.tepapa.govt.nz/Mediasite/Catalog/catalogs/Ngata. Or, tune in to Radio Ngati Porou as it will be broadcasting the lectures live.

Q: Where can I find information about the lectures?
A: Everything is on our website - www.ngatiporoukiponeke.org.nz. Please go to the website and sign in. This way we will keep in touch with you!

Please pass all this information on to your Ngati Porou whanau and networks.
